Hello, and thanks for your interest in learning more about me!

I’ve always been fascinated by human behavior, and what drives people to do what they do. I studied marketing in college and then spent over a decade working within the field of consumer research – first on the vendor side conducting focus groups and online studies for a variety of clients spanning industry sectors. I then moved client side, managing research efforts from within Vivendi, Activision and Yahoo! before deciding to obtain my MBA from Presidio Graduate School – a program dedicated to sustainability, or how the power of business can be used to aid society.

It was here that the idea for my company (Amp) was born and where I met the other members of my team. The problem Amp solves is one of inefficiency and duplication – too much time is being wasted searching for sustainability information and resources, and efforts are being duplicated due to there being no open-access central destination to share. As social and environmental problems continue to escalate, this is stalling needed progress. Amp is the starting point (think Yelp for sustainability resources). In October of 2012 we raised just over $30K via Indiegogo, and in August of 2013 we released the beta version of our platform.

Personal sustainability is also a passion of mine, and a motivating creative force in my life. I’ve always written poetry and began sharing it more broadly in 2010 with the creation of a poetry website. I co-created a weekly poetry feature in 2012 called Wordplay Wednesday on Intent, a site started by Deepak Chopra’s daughter Mallika, and I recite to various audiences. I’ve included a selection of my poetry here. I also enjoy writing articles – I’m a regular contributor to Forbes, and a guest contributor to GOOD, PandoDaily, and Triple Pundit. Last but not least, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve just released my first EP, titled A Good Start, which is a long-delayed dream come true. I hope to have my songs recorded by young established artists, and am excited to continue learning, writing, collaborating, recording, and maybe even playing some gigs of my own down the road:)

Things I love: solving problems, spicy ginger tea, sweaty yoga, learning new things, mentorship, how the sun hits the ocean in the afternoon, authentic connections, being hooked by a desire to write, starry-filled skies, feeling my heart beat, the internet, laughing to tears, seeing live music at outdoor venues in the summertime, roasted veggies, exchanging top 3 lists on road trips, witnessing positive transformation in others, salted dark chocolate, looking for the lessons and finding gratitude in every situation, hearing someone say they relate to my words, the smell of jasmine, gardenias and lavender, how it feels to care deeply, finding new music to become obsessed with, SoulCycle, restaurants specializing in over-priced local organic food, honesty, waking up before the sun rises and hearing the waves crash, my wonderful family, and faith.
