Hi, and thanks for your interest!
I’ve always been fascinated by human behavior, and what drives people to do what they do. I studied marketing in college and spent over a decade working within the field of consumer insights – first on the vendor side, and then managing research efforts from within Vivendi, Activision and Yahoo! before deciding to obtain my MBA from Presidio Graduate School – a program dedicated to sustainability, or how the power of business can be used to aid society.
Upon graduation I launched a tech startup that led me to becoming a columnist, profiling entrepreneurs and writing about market trends, and social impact. I’ve been a regular contributor to Forbes, and have had guest posts published by Fast Company, PandoDaily, GOOD and Triple Pundit. You can find all of the articles I’ve written at the left side bar.
Personal sustainability is a motivating creative force in my life. I’ve always written poetry and began sharing it more broadly in 2010 with the creation of a poetry website, and reciting to various audiences. I’ve included a selection of my poetry here. I’m also a songwriter, and in 2014 I released my first EP titled A Good Start, as well as a single called Two Broken People. I would love nothing more than to have my songs recorded by established artists so that my words could be heard by the masses, and help people feel understood.
Things I love: being hooked by the desire to write, spicy ginger tea, sweaty yoga, learning new things, mentorship, how the sun hits the ocean in the afternoon, authentic connections, meditation, starry-filled skies, feeling my heart beat, artsy films, traveling, trying new things, laughing to tears, seeing live music at outdoor venues in the summertime, roasted root veggies, exchanging top 3 lists, witnessing positive transformation in others, salted dark chocolate, daily gratitude, hearing someone say they relate to my words, the smell of jasmine, gardenias and lavender, how it feels to care deeply, finding new music to become obsessed with, getting my ass kicked at SoulCycle, restaurants specializing in over-priced local organic food, honesty, humility, my wonderful family, friends, and faith.
